Paris Travel Guide (with Offline Maps) - mTrip App Reviews

One-two-three, just were in Loredo, and now we in Paris.

For finding your way around Paris totally offline, this free app beats the formerly-helpful but now drowning-in-ads Trip Advisor. The best part is you can build your own itinerary and if youre not familiar with Paris, you can add the attractions you wish to visit and they will automatically be shuffled in order of distance from other attractions you choose each day. You can also put in various criteria and the app will build an itinerary just for you.

Has great features, still lacking a lot of info. For instance, the Hilton Paris Arc de Triomphe (a major hotel) was not listed until we added it. If all users will add missing places and rate/review them it will be awesome someday. But for now, its a great way to explore a new city and be able to find all the major landmarks. I think subways should be a separate category, not just buried inside "other".

I just got back from Paris. Used Mtrip to plan the trip. This App is great. I think it is a necessity for finding your way around a big foreign city. You can also benefit from it without incurring roaming charges.

Writing this review from my Paris trip:) Got mtrip in my pocket and the only thing it miss is subway map with search option. Even though im sure i will buy other locations when available. Good job guys!

Cant go wrong with this guide and Jibbigo translator for French - both excellent apps which really get the job done if you, like me, dont speak the language but love to travel and enjoy new sights and cultures. Ive also found Rick Steves book and guides to e highly useful. There are a lot of other apps that I tried and found wanting for my needs on this trip...these three have been all I need (still here now, about to start day 3 of my 10 day itinerary). In particular Ive used this app to set my base itinerary and for directions turn by turn on foot and through the Paris metro to reliably get me from point A to point B. So far so GREAT! couldnt be happier....

My wife and I used this guide in Paris and it made our lives a lot easier than carrying maps. I highly recommend it. A small note is that the app is a little slow on the iPhone 3GS .

I was worried that this software is a wast of money, but after trying it, it made me depend on it. Only one thing that I wish to search by word in all the categories.

This was so helpful in navigating our way around Paris! I would only recommend expanding the map to include Chateau Versailles (amazing place) and including navigation from the airports into the city.

The reviews are poorly written. "Paris would not be Paris without the Eiffel tower". Augmented reality works poorly. No reviews. Cant handle it if you are not staying in a hotel.

This tool has been a real lifesaver and cut down on a lot of wasted time and wasted steps. It might be a good idea to add the ability to input daily notes or diary to make notes of "daily learnings". Also, I found the bus system to be a great alternative, especially for above ground sightseeing, but the subway seems to be preferred (only) routing for this app.

I have been using it for the last couple of days and Im loving the app. So easy to use and full of information. The smart trips are just amazing! Worth every dollar

The app cannot adjust to anything beyond the main city of Paris. If all you want is within the first to 10th arr. then you are well suited. Want to know about Versailles? Nope. Staying in a lesser known hotel or renting a flat and want to add it? Nope. Want to calculate distance from your unrecognised abode? Nope since the map doesnt include anything but Paris proper. The app for Budapest is insanely good and was such a great tool for my trip I willingly got the app for Paris. I would not waste my money on such. Whats offered here is less info than u would get from lonely planet or Rick steves.

I always hate reading other one star reviews because I assume the person just expected too much BUT this app was a complete waste of money as the search function crashes the app every time I use it rendering the app completely useless.

Had to manually add my hotel, restaurants and any visits outside the city (Versailles, chartres). Bad enough they arent there, you have to pinpoint their location on a map, they wont even find them for you. A big waste of $. Skip it!

Loved it! Very helpful. The GPS occasionally got confused near tall buildings. The reviewer who complained about the lack of content outside Paris should realize that this is an app for PARIS, not France. Suggestion for improvement: when a user adds a site with a complete address, the app should place it on the map. Its difficult to do that manually if youve never been there.

I really found this app amazing. I used it to plan my trip. It gave great suggestions that I hadnt read about (or skipped) in the guide book, then it even told me how to get to the places from where I was. I was able to navigate all over Paris with no issues and no gps. Since Paris has so many landmarks you cant really not know where you are. I will absolutely buy other cities in the future and leave the paper guide book at home. Buy this app if you are going to Paris.

This is a great app! However this app does not include hostels in accommodations.
